On the evening of Jan. 5, 2013, Carson Franklin Cook slipped from his mother's loving arms to become one of God's special angels. After fighting a hard battle to recover from injuries sustained in a roll-over vehicle accident as he was returning home from work at Noon on New Year's Eve, our sweet, precious Carson, surrounded by family and friends, went to live in God's kingdom. He fought a really hard fight for six days, but in the end, his big heart finally gave out. His family takes great comfort in knowing that he is now whole and perfect forever. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, Waco, with funeral to follow. Carson will be laid to rest beside his maternal grandparents at Aquilla Vineyard Cemetery at the family's Aquilla Vineyard Ranch in Aquilla, Texas.

Carson was born at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, on January 29, 1991, and he was baptized the following day. He spent the first two weeks of his life in the new Neonatal ICU with Dr. Wheeler, but was healthy and strong by the time he came home. He was a joy to love, sleeping through the night from the beginning. He would laugh at anything, and loved playing with his brothers and cousins. Carson attended Lake Shore Baptist Children's Center, where he loved his teacher, Mrs. Hoffman. He then attended Elementary school at Hillcrest PDS, with his special teachers, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Ward, and Mrs. Ochoa. He played tuba in the band while he attended Tennyson Middle School. His high school years were spent at Brownsboro High School where he graduated in 2009. He was always so proud of having been elected student of the month in October 2008, and he enjoyed being a drill team escort and playing Varsity football for the Brownsboro Bears. Carson was employed at AAFES, where he loved his work and made many new friends.

He was a respectful, kind, funny, and loving son. Although he did not possess star power or intellectual prowess, he was blessed with an extraordinarily kind, human heart. His big brown eyes and long, beautiful eyelashes would always light up as he gave his loved ones giant bear hugs. His special saying was "It's all good", because to Carson, life WAS good. He would text his mom to tell her she was "the most special mom in the whole world", or to just say "I love you, mom" - EVERY DAY! He loved eating Atomic wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. He also enjoyed a good home-cooked meal, and he was especially grateful when he could take home leftovers. He enjoyed action movies, watching WWE, and playing electronic games. Carson's dog, Nicky, was his constant companion from the day he wandered into his yard.

He attended Robinson Drive United Methodist Church where he enjoyed Men's Group activities, ushering, and working with the children during Vacation Bible School. He always looked forward to meeting and visiting with new people. He will be remembered for his sweet spirit. Carson was one of God's special children. We will always "Love You To The Sun & Back".

Carson was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. F.J. and Ruth Dolly; his paternal step-grandfather, William Henry Thacker; and a special great-uncle, Joseph W. Quitta.

On his maternal side, Carson is survived by his mother, Louise Dolly Cook; his three brothers, Cody, Collin, and Chance Cook of Waco; two aunts, Lois Dolly of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Laura Dolly Crawford and husband, Michael, of Robinson; an uncle, Lawrence Dolly of Kingsville, Texas; cousins, Christina Louise Dolly, Ashley Dolly Morgan, and Brandon Dolly, and Christopher and Kimberly Crawford; and special friends, Billy and Teresa Arndt, Kathy and Dennis Rejcek, Jillian Carter, and Brittney Dzamba.

On his paternal side, Carson is survived by his father, Wayne Cook of Brownsboro; half-sisters, Elizabeth, Jennifer, and Sara Cook; his maternal grandmother, Marie E. Thacker of Tyler; special great-aunt, Louise Ann Bailey; a special great-uncle, Wes A. Quitta and wife, Judy, of Murchison, Texas; an uncle, Vincent Frank Driggers and wife, Leslie, of Anahauc, Texas; two aunts, Linda Banks and husband, Bryan, and Oline McNeece and husband, Doug, all of Tyler; and cousins, Vince and Kadie Ann Driggers, Jasi and Nicholas Banks, Jean Morris, and Ryan McNeece; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Dr. Peterson and Dr. Bauer, the Hillcrest Trauma doctors, and to Nurses Brooke, Amy, Trish, Nancy, Jonathan, and Heather in the Hillcrest SICU, who worked tirelessly around the clock to give Carson the very best care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robinson Drive United Methodist Church, 2801 Robinson Drive, Waco, TX 76706 or to the Robinson Education Foundation, 500 West Lyndale, Robinson, TX 76706.

Not sure what to say?

Bob, you will be missed soo much! You were such a sweetheart in highschool, you could always bring a smile to everyones face even if they were having a horrible day. I am very thankful I got to know you my senior year. God needed to call another angel home, he definetly called a very sweet one!! We will all miss you Bob!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Cook family. Although Carson was the only Cook brother that I didn't have the pleasure of knowing, I heard many wonderful stories through Cody, Collin and Chance at SMA. My heart goes out to y'all in this difficult time. I have first-hand experience in losing a sibling, and I know that it is not an easy thing to go through. Hopefully, the love and support of your family and friends will help in this time of grieving. You all are always in my heart. Love...

My husband and I use to go to school with Carson, and we really enjoyed him during our time at high school. We will always remember his smile and how he treated everyone fairly, no matter who you were or what click you belonged to. That was high school, but I wish I could have been able to see the man that Carson became, but we moved shortly after graduation.
Our blessings are with him and your family. RIP Carson... aka Big Bob. <3

To the Cook Family, Carson was a good friend and I enjoyed working with him at the Waco DC (AAFES). Everytime we passed each other at work, I would ask him, "What's up Bro"?. And he would always reply, "six foot one" and give me a thumbs up sign! Always happy and smiling... he will be missed at work!

Louise, I am so very sorry for your loss. May the Lord comfort you & heal you in this difficult time.

Child of God!
