Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Carter while working at Thomas & Solomon in 2010. While we only worked together a short while, he was so welcoming, always had a smile on his face and helped you to see the good in things, even during a bad day. He will be missed.

Dearest Carter,
I miss you so much. You were just ALWAYS there!
You would drive by me once or twice a week in ithaca
in your Joe Cool Jeep, with your Joe Cool Sunglasses on. You would be on the dance floor either in class or at Early Bird Salsa. We have Waltzed across the floor, we have Fox Trotted across the floor, we have
Meringued across the floor. You would always ask me to dance. And dance we did. Your last words to me. "We should Dance"
Every dance I dance will be...

Godspeed, Carter,

Wise beyond your years, now gone before your time.
It was great being a double-winner with you.

Truly, "Car-Tel," there are no words, no possible way to express, in words, the impact you have had on my life. From the moment you entered my class and surprised me with that wonderful selection of items from the most recent Superman celebration from Metropolis, to the very difficult days in which you literally held me up and kept my head above water, I will always be grateful for everything you are to me. I could write a book to you, but I'll stop here. You are a wonderful man.

I'm so heartbroken to hear about Carter. Carter was a dear friend and a brother. He was full of life. He was always there eager to help. I remember how many times he persuaded me, Chris Sappo and Jon Ferris to sneak out from the firm for an afternoon Starbucks run. His positivity, energy and his willingness to help anyone and everyone was an inspiration to me. I'll miss you, Carter.

We are very sorry to hear that Mr Carter had passed away. He was a very good guy and a nice swim coach.

How very sad. Such a great guy. I worked with him at Thomas and Solomon.

I only knew Carter for the short period that I've been involved with the Senior Swim Lab at Island Fitness. He was our instructor's helping hand. I was always happy to see his friendly, smiling face once a week. It was very easy to learn from Carter, because he always showed genuine kindness and patience towards us students. He was an exceptional swimmer, and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to learn from him. I will miss him. My sincere condolences to the family and friends who...

Every time we met I felt a hug even if we didn't. His light, many have noted, has spread to us all.

of hurt.

An absence
that encourages
my heart to remember

Just how close
I have been
to the stars.
