Cary Harmon

Harmon, Cary (Clara) 90, of Northfield, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday July 16, 2007 at the Crestview Lutheran Home in Columbia Heights. Cary was born July 9, 1917 in Clan William, Manitoba, Canada to Sevrin and Gunda (Nelson) Vangstad. She graduated from Osakis High School and continued her education becoming an LPN. Cary furthered her training in the United States Navy as an oral surgery nurse from 1943 to 1945. Services will be 10 AM Thursday July 19, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield. Interment with military honors will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Survivors include 4 children and their spouses, John and Katharine of Berlin, Pennsylvania, Roger and Deborah of Fridley, Mary and Bruce Swenson of Maple Grove, Mark of Northfield; 5 grandchildren, Rachel, Jonathan, Sarah (Aaron) Crandall, Katherine (Robert) Saba, Julie (Jamie) Roell; 4 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Emily and Greta Crandall and Alexander Roell; and other relatives and friends. Arrangements are with Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.
