Caryl was a wonderful man. I have very long fond childhood memories of Caryl. He was a mentor, and played a part in my aviation career. Caryl gave me my first flying lesson at the age of 12, which was a birthday present from my parents, and that lesson lead to my current career. My wife and I hope you find peace and comfort in the memories that have been made. Caryl touched many lives, and he touched mine. He will be greatly missed. Sandy and Rich Bennett

Doris and family,
It was a true pleasure to care for Caryl and get to know him and your family during his hospital stays. I am sorry for your loss. Doris, you told me he was always such a gentleman and I learned that even from the short time I knew him on 5S. I hope you find comfort in all of the memories you hold dear to your heart.
God bless you at this difficult time.

Dear Doris, Cheryl, Cindy, Jim and families -
We are both very sorry and are thinking of you - praying for you. I have wonderful childhood memories of the snowmobile shop, 4-H, and time spent at Pickeral Lake. Caryl gave me my first plane ride ever! Take care of yourself and know that we care.

Dear Doris and family,
You have our condolences at this time of grief. On behalf of the Appelt-Petersen relatives we think back on Caryl for his smile and kindness toward all and especially always supporting the yearly reunions of the entire Schaefer family.
Thinking of you,

We were truly saddened at the news of Caryl's passing. Our thoughts were drawn back to the many fun times we spent together. Thoughts of Peace Church, deer hunting and many more. We are not in Michigan now so we won't be at the service but our thoughts will be with your family. Howard and Joan Lettinga

Both Karen and I will miss Caryl's smiling face and his ever-loving support of the family. Although we will be unable to attend the funeral, his presence, along with his immediate family, will always be in our hearts.
