Casey M. Fitzgerald, 41, died Friday March 10th at home. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Kevin and Gail (Pollard) Fitzgerald and spent the majority of his life in South Hadley with a few stops across Western Mass. Casey worked various jobs in construction, concrete and spent some time working for the Town of South Hadley earlier in his career. He enjoyed snowboarding and mountain biking and spending time with his friends. He absolutely loved his cat (and best friend), Jasper. Casey was the kind of guy that would never miss a birthday, especially for his nephews. He had a huge heart and will be missed by many. He leaves his brother Ryan Fitzgerald and his wife Janel of North Reading and two nephews Drew and Dylan Fitzgerald. There will be a funeral Mass Thursday, March 16th at 10 am at St. Theresa’s Church in South Hadley, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. I grew up on Wildwood Lane right across the street from the Fitzgerald´s house. I saw the house as it was being built. I watched Casey grow up riding his bike, skateboarding and playing ball with reckless abandon. After I moved out I remember Casey´s kindness towards my elderly parents...bringing in their newspaper and their mail every day and helping clear the snow off their driveway with his dad.
