Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Casey Lawrence O’Dell, born March 13, 1976, in St. Louis Missouri. Son of Jerry & Tina (Mertz) O’Dell.

Casey, age 45, passed away on June 21, 2021 at his home in Pacific, Missouri, surrounded by his adoring family.

Casey excelled at everything he put his mind to, which included many interests. He was both an amazing athlete and student with a special interest in poetry. He graduated from Parkway West High School in 1994 where his true leadership skills became apparent. He participated in many clubs and served as Class President, multiple years. In addition to, maintaining the role of Captain of his football team for several years. He also was on the wrestling team and competed in State Finals. All while maintaining honor roll status.

Following graduation Casey attended Mizzuo - University of Missouri. He later went on to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Casey worked for O’Dell’s Moving Company for 18 years, eventually obtaining ownership of the company.

Casey could be most known for his inspiration of the creation of O’Dell’s Irish Pub and Ale House located in Eureka, Missouri. Casey and his parents opened the Pub on December 31, 2011. Together as a family; Casey, his parents, and sister Tara, created an authentic Irish restaurant and pub, which has far exceeded Casey’s dream. Casey was the official spokesperson for the Pub, his charm and charisma was inherently magnetic. Not to mention, the impact it has served on the many lives from here to Kildare!

Casey may have only had 45 years on this earth but he was surrounded by an unbelievable number of friends and a very large family that loved him dearly. Casey’s biggest joy in life were his children! He was an absolutely wonderful father. His two daughters stole his heart with every look they gave him and his two sons made him so very proud to be their Dad. Casey welcomed his partner, Amber’s son Kallum into his family with open arms and loved him just as he did his own. A heart of gold, the very best this world could hold, this is the legacy Casey has left behind.

Casey is predeceased by Grandparents, Rogers & Betty O’Dell. Casey is survived by both of his parents, Jerry and Tina O’Dell. He is also survived by his Grandparents, Larry & Lila Mertz. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Tara James, Ashley Moore, Kimberly O’Dell, and brother Jason James; Amber Tudor, partner and mother of his children, Finnley & Fiona; Rachel Mrozewski, mother of his children, Kirian & Aliyah.

Not sure what to say?

So sorry

Dearest Jerry, Tina & family,

May God's peace and
Love lift you from sorrow
God has you in his arms
Please remember he
is always with you
He will stand with you
He will dry your eyes
He won't let you down
Take refuge in him
For he will hold you strong
May he calm my fearful hearts

I am so saddened to hear of Casey’s passing. I have fond memories of him in high school as he was a friend of my younger brother, Andrew Jones. I remember Casey & Andy coming to visit me at University of Oklahoma for an OU vs. KU football game. He was always the life of the party. My condolences to his family & friends.
