Catherine N. (Bertulli) Bassignani 93, of Cocoa Beach, died peacefully at her home, Sunday September 6, 2015 following an illness. She was the wife of the late Nello P. Bassignani, who died in 1994. Born April 30, 1922 in Milford, a daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Liberto) Bertulli, she was a former longtime resident of Franklin, before moving to Florida. She was raised and educated in Milford, and was a graduate of Milford High School. Catherine worked for many years at the former Brunelli's Market in Franklin and as a teller at the South Shore Bank. She enjoyed playing bingo, poker and spending time with her family and friends. Catherine was a member of the Red Hat Society, and a communicant of the Church of Our Savior, Cocoa Beach. She is survived by 3 sons, Peter M. Bassignani, DVM and his wife Andrea of Falmouth, Nello P. Bassignani, Jr. and Michael S. Bassignani both of Franklin, 2 brothers, Henry Bertulli of Milford and Peter Bertulli of Medway. Also surviving are her grandchildren, David Bassignani, Kara Bassignani, Lisa Bassignani, Mary Davis, Debra Hanson, Philip Bassignani, Laura Thompson, Steven Bassignani and many nieces and nephews. Catherine was the sister of the late Ernest, Nora and Vincent Bertulli and mother-in-law of the late Carol Bassignani. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday Sept. 21st, at 10:30 am from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Sq. at 11AM. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
