I smile every time I think of Catherine and the chats we had around the kitchen table. She brought so much jot amd love to her family and friends. Someday, I hope to reunite with her children, especially Cathy, to raise a glass and toast this wonderful woman who made me laugh and welcomed me into her home as one of her own.

It's been four long years your family and friends have been carrying on without you. I am sure you are in heaven teaching everyone and helping them to have a good time, just like you did on this plane of existence. If you run into my daughter, Lesley Grapka, please give her a hug for me and tell her I love her more than anything. I miss you both and I wish nothing but peace and love for you and your family.

I am so sorry to read of Kate's passing. She was one of the kindest, most honest and loving people I ever met. I first met her when I was a first year 8th grade teacher at WTMS, and then really got to know her when I tutored her daughter Cathy in English during her bout with mono back in 1977. After tutoring, I would join Kate at the kitchen table drinking coffee and chatting until midnight. I think she may have twisted my arms a few times to sip some scotch because she wanted me to feel...
