The Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, Inc., announces with deepest sympathy the transition of Mrs. Catherine Broadnax.


Catherine Roberta Knight Broadnax was born October 25, 1937 in Wilmer, Alabama. She transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on September 16, 2021.


She is preceded in death by her parents Devody Knight, Sr., and Scottie H. Knight, brother Devody Knight, Jr., sister Mary Wynn, and great grandson Kingston Craig. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 68 years Calvin D. Broadnax, Sr., sons Calvin (Phyllis) D. Broadnax, Jr., Rev. Gregory (Dorothy) Broadnax, daughter Wanda Broadnax Craig, grandchildren  Carlton (Dawntae) Moseley, Xavier A. Craig, Whitney (Miguel) Marshall, four great grandchildren, one Godson Kyle Andrews, six sisters Wilhemena McAllister, Delores (William) Andrews, Artence Moffett, Almedia Small, Geraldine Ham, and Bernice Knight, sister in laws Odessa Wesley, Barbara Holloway, Alma Whisenhunt, and Mattie Abston. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mom you brought so much love to our family and home. I will always remember the walks and talks we shared. Be like the eagle you see one or two together. They zoar high above everything and everybody. Be like the eagle!!!

My deepest sympathy is extended to my cousins,Calvin,Wanda,Greg,and Calvin. It broke my heart to hear of Catherine's death,I shall always remember her as sweet and loving with a special smile especially to my grandmother (Johnnie). Thouugh the time may seem dark now,I encourage you to look to God who knows and understand your pain and will give you strength. Love you family. Your cousins Brenda and Faye .
