The single, most defining characteristic of my Mom has been her ability to love...

Not sure what to say?

Loved reading this. My husband, Merrick , knew Bill and Kathy in Africa. And then we knew Bill and Kathy in Bangladesh. I remember them talking about their children. Thank you. Sara Ann and Merrick Lockwood

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved Kathy, my much loved friend of many years. I just recently found the beautiful tribute to your Mom, Bill. I will continue to hold her close as my sister-in-heart. We shared so many special times, especially during our high school and college years and those fond memories,of course, include Gert and Larry. I miss them all. Love to all the Derrengers from Arlene at Cape Cod.

Dear Jamie and Joan, Thank you so much for your message. I read it to my Dad over the phone (I´m in Madrid and he´s in Dhaka, Bangladesh) and we both wept. I think that one of the pictures that I´m uploading includes you, Joan, and my Mom. I´m also including a picture of Mom in her living room in Dhaka in 1995. I remember feeling at peace on Sunday afternoons at your house or ours while you and my parents prepared a roast leg of lamb and I remember my Mom and you, Joan, with a very tiny baby,...

My dad absolutely adored your mother. I still have many of his cookbooks with notes on them referencing Kathy's touches and edits to recipes. Some of my fondest, childhood memories include your parents. I happened to wind up on a plane with them many years ago and I hadnt seen them since they left for Figi. I was sure it was them and confirmed my suspicions upon spying the wicker and rattan carry-on bags! I did re-introduce myself and visited with them briefly upon landing in Billings. We...

I was so sad to see this this morning. I am so sorry for your loss. Cathy and you Bill are really special people in my life. When Jim went to work for KOA we met some very special people. We had some fun times and made some great memories. It was a sad time when you guys left Billings but I was in awe of your adventures. Both of you have been a big part of me life. I remember Cathy and several of the KOA wives getting together at your house, and making all of the appetizers that we had at...

Thank you so much, Sarah, for leaving your thoughts about the magical place that my parents created. It´s really great to hear from you.

Derringer´s. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked at the Salsbury´s Greenhouse for Cathy and Bill. Little did I know that the experience at Salsbury´s would inspire a life long career and become a great love of my life, horticulture and trees. Cathy was a wonderful, kind, loving inspiration to me and I have never forgotten her. Her stories of the Peace Corp and Africa made me dream and I became a global traveler and soon leave for Africa. Thank-you Bill, Nancy, and Billy for sharing Cathy´s...
