Catherine Marie "Cat" Duncan, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother, ascended into Paradise on Sunday, February 6th. She was 57 years old and a resident of this Paradise for over 15 years. She leaves behind her father, Edwin Prescott, her sisters and brother in law, Pamela and Dean Fender, Jennifer Prescott and Jill Prescott, all of Paradise, her brother Guy Prescott, of Half Moon Bay, her niece, Sarah Fender, nephews, Jacob and Jesse Fender and Forrest and Ryan Melvin of Paradise. Daughter Michelle De Wolf Newman of Menlo Park and grandchildren Holly and Austin will also miss her so.
Catherine loved her career in Real Estate and won many certificates and awards for her professional achievements. She often worked late into the night and her clients appreciated her tenacity and attention to detail and the personal kindness' she was so prone to.
Music and dancing were some of Cat's favorite things, and she was a knowledgeable and avid gardener. Cat was truly an excellent cook and loved to prepare food. Her plates were always as beautiful as they were tasty. She was also a travel buff and traveled to many exotic and exciting places in her youth as well as a trip to Hawaii and cruise she recently took. Cat always had a road atlas and a world map at hand.
Born in Taft, California, and raised in the Bay Area, Catherine grew up with a great and enduring love of the sea. For many years she lived and worked on the coast where she and her beloved dog Blossom would often be seen walking on the beach. This is where her ashes will be scattered, along with those of Blossom, as we set them free, together again.
Catherine will be so very greatly missed, but will always live in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a charity such as Salvation Army or Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Paradise Chapel of the Pines who handled the arrangements.

Not sure what to say?

We met cat when we puchased our home and she welcomed us to paradise five years ago. She has known our family since our first child was only 2 months young. Just this summer she helped us find another home. She was a down to earth person and we connected and friendship grew. She is TRULY going to be missed.we thought of her as more than a realator, she felt more like a part of our family and she will always be remembered in our home. our prayers are with her family and friends. We are so sorry...

It was always a pleasure working with Cat. You could be working on one of the worst escrows of the year and with one or two comments, Cat would have you chuckling about it. She had a wonderful sence of humor and truly cared about her clients. I will miss her.

I know I already signed but there is a story about Cat I wanted to share. I met Cat in the summer of 1999, we were looking to buy a house. I found one in October, in the middle of a rain storm. Cat met me at this house at 9:00pm, in a rainstorm, with no lights and a steep driveway, what I didnt know was that she also had a sprained ankle and couldnt walk well. She insisted on going down this driveway and into the house so I could see it. This is the kind of thing she did for people all the...

I was one of the lucky ones to have worked with Catherine. She was one of the most ethical real estate professionals I have ever worked with. Cat loved her job and showed love to everyone around her. Despite her health issues she never failed to ask me about my mother who is terminally ill. Cat, I will sorely miss you not only as a business partner but as a friend. Take care my friend!

I enjoyed knowing Cat; she was lovely to work with. Kindest condolences to her family and friends.

May the good Lord watch over you and may you watch over all of us...Your JOY and LAUGHTER will be greatly missed.

I've only known Catherine a short time, but in that time I found her to be a wonderful person. She was truely an inspiration to all. She will be greatly missed. May God's blessing always be with her family.

Our condolences to Catherine's family & friends. And to all the people at Century 21 Results Realty.

In the short time I had to know Cat,
she proved to be a true friend and
and inspiration to do well in whatever we chose to do. I will miss her smile, her marvelous sense
of humor, her pep talks but mostly
her presents in my life.
