FERGUSON, Catherine M. (Crimi) - Passed on to a better place on Friday, August 29, 2008, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. Cathy was born in Flint, Michigan on October 12, 1947 to Joe and Josephine Crimi. She attended St. Agnes High School and graduated in 1965. After graduation Cathy worked several years for Comcast Cable Vision; then for McLoud Phone Service, Inc. In 1967 Cathy married her childhood sweetheart, Tom Ferguson. Together they produced a beautiful daughter, Tammy, who, in turn gave Cathy a beautiful granddaughter, Angela; and an adorable grandson, Joey. Cathy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, along with crafting. She enjoyed going to the casinos and carrying on the lucky streaks she inherited from her mother, "Tootsie". But most of all she loved to spend time with Angela and Joey, her most beloved grandchildren. Cathy leaves behind to cherish her memories, loving husband, Thomas Ferguson; daughter, Tammy Ferguson and husband Roger; grandchildren, Angela and Joey Ferguson; sisters, Barb (Bob) Sitko and Gerri (Bob) McKeon; brother, Joe (Tina) Crimi; mother-in-law, Pat Kinney; aunt, Joyce Brannam; great-aunt, Lucy Bonomo; many more cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves dear longtime friends, Della Masse, Sherry Haynes and Judy McIntrye; and last but not least, her constant 4 legged companion, "Teddy". A special thank you to Dave, Tiffiney, Bev and Cathy, from Avalon Hospice for all their tender care; and a heartfelt thank you to Dr. April Tyler, for all her loving care that she provided Cathy and her family in their time of need. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather Wednesday, September 3, 2008 from 5-8PM at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, to celebrate Cathy's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a fund set up for her grandchildren's education. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com

Not sure what to say?

To the family of Cathy Ferguson: I was very sorry to hear about Cathy's death. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I am so sad today. I just heard. Cathy was a second mom to me growing up. I haven't seen her in years but i have thought of her often and about all our little chats at her kitchen table. I will always remember her and smile.

I would like to send her entire family, especially Tammy and Tom, my deepest sympathy.

Cathy was such a special lady that I feel very blessed to have known. Her sweet spirit always made me smile and her enthusiasm was contagious. I will miss her very much!

I am so sorry about Cathy. You are in my thoughts and prayers. DianeVincent Wiselogle

My thoughts and prayers are with Cathy's family at this sad time. Cathy and I spoke about 5 years ago when I was helping locate classmates for a reunion. We had a lovely talk, remembering St. Agnes and what really good kids we all were. Cathy became a wonderful and good wife, mother, and grandmother. May she rest in peace.

We send our condolences to all of Cathys loved ones, especially her grandchildren. May she rest in peace.

I have prayed for your family and will continue to pray for you. My heart goes out to you. It gets better with time.
