Catherine,
I will miss you so much although we
knew each other just a short time. You have given me the most wonderful man I have ever know and I will be grateful to you forever.

Although I never personally met Mrs
Franklin, I talked to her numerous times on the phone. Her husband taught me to drive---immediately after I completed my driving test, I drove her husband to Sherman to take care of some business at the
Court House there! That was 43 years
ago this week!

Mrs. Franklin was my sixth grade teacher at Bonham Elem. I was only 1.5 years post polio and was still struggling to find my way in a body that just didn't work very well anymore. She was the best teacher I ever had. She made a difficult year so much easier for a very unhappy little girl. I loved her. She always read to us after lunch. I will never forget Rufous Redtail and Johnny Tremain.
She was a very special person.
