Catherine E. (Messinger) Geiger, 93, of Slatington, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the home of her daughter Karen with whom she was residing. She was the wife of the late Bruce R. Geiger. Born in Palmerton, August 9, 1931, Catherine was the daughter of the late Warren A. Messinger, Sr. and Florence (Thomas) Messinger. She was a graduate of the former Slatington High School, Class of 1949. Catherine was a food service worker at the former Neffs Hotel and the former Handwerk’s Restaurant in Slatington before retiring. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Slatington.
Survivors: Children, Brian K. Geiger (Debbie) of Slatington, Karen J. Parks (Gary) of Slatington, Bonnie K. Rodgers (Karl) of Lehighton, Michael B. Geiger of Altoona; brother, Ronald Messinger (Carol) of Virginia; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; predeceased by a daughter, Dawn I. Herman and brothers, David, Clifford, and Warren Messinger.
Service: Funeral services will be held 7:30 pm. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 6:30 pm. – 7:30 pm. prior to the service. Private interment at Union Cemetery of Slatington.
