Mrs. Hoye will be greatly missed. She had an amazing life and her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren. My deepest sympathy to the Hoye family.

I never had the honor of meeting Ms. Hoye, but want to express to her family the admiration of RI women reading her obituary and being grateful for her talent and persistence which doubtless opened doors for many of us who never new her. I hope the Providence Journal will eventually memorialize her in some formal way as a pioneer female journalist. We all regret the passing of someone this great and send sincere condolences to those privileged to have known her.
