Catherine C. “Cathy” Kasnel, of Perkasie, PA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at her home.  She was 69.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Matthew S. and Maria (Pomper) Kasnel.  She was a 1972 graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School, Lansdale, PA.

It was at an early age Cathy knew she had a love of music.  She started to play the organ in the 8th grade and continued to learn and grow her skill.  After high school, she began playing the organ at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sellersville.  She eventually became the Director of Music at St. Agnes, a position she kept until passing.  She dedicated 51 years providing music to the church and its parishioners.

In addition to her music, she spent over 20 years working at Paramount Packaging, Chalfont, PA.  She then worked for the Bon-Ton, Quakertown and Redner’s Markets in Quakertown and North Wales, PA.

Cathy loved to listen to the radio, especially music and talk radio stations.  She also loved to take her car out and go for a drive.

She is survived by a sister, Cecelia B. Niemi, of Juneau, AK.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark J. Kasnel.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2024 in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA, where friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00 PM.  Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Cathy, thank you for you're friendship. I will treasure it forever. I enjoyed our time together after Saturday evening Mass, talking about life. You brought joy to many people with your music, your kindness and your smile. You are a tender soul. I Love you, may you forever rest in Gods peace.

Hope you are playing your beautiful music to our Lord, Cathy. You were always a bright smile and nothing but kindness to me and my family. I do believe that my kids’ interest in music started when they played a few keys on the organ with your guidance. You are surely missed

I remember Cathy from the Bon-ton. We were good friends while I worked there. I ran into her after that one time. We had many chats about the Lord, Jesus Christ. And in regards to spiritual music. I hope that I was a support for her. I'll be praying for family and friends at this grieving time with your loss.

Cathy is a beautiful soul. I loved talking with her at Bon ton when we worked together. I visited her also at Redners. We remained friends many years. She was so kind hearted. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body. I admired her for that. I know it was hard for her after her Mom passed. She truly deserved better things in life than she was dealt at times. I pray she’s at peace with those she loves doing what makes her happy. Till we meet again. Hugs my friend.

I’ve known Cathy for many years. Always friendly and dedicated. She was the heart of St. Agnes’ choir. The church organ bench was her ideal seat for worship. The music transferred to the various choirs echoing with inspirational harmony for all.
Cathy may you rejoice with the heavenly hosts in your new home..
Sadly missed.

Cathy was such a blessing to all of the parishioners st St. Agnes. She was a talented organist and Director of Music. She kind and had such a gentle spirit. She loved to share her love of music with the children's choir. She taught my daughter so much about cantoring and let her lead the singing by herself at 13. She instilled confidence and a love for liturgical music in my daughter and I will be forever grateful to her. I will miss our conversations. Cathy, may you rest in the peace of...

Cathy was a loving, kind and generous soul. She would bend over backwards in order to avoid hurting anyone. My beautiful sister, Rest in peace and be Happy. I love you and will miss you.
