As a 9-year-old boy I began taking accordion lessons at Kitts Music Co. in downtown N.W. Washington, DC. I took the streetcar there from our home in N.E. D.C. I took lessons for 4 years, and Mrs. Lally was my teacher. I believe that initial lessons from her were through Kitts, and then I remember taking my lessons at her home, where my Dad faithfully transported me weekly.
