By far the most memorable was when Aunt Cathie & Uncle Fred came to Boston with all 8 in tow and set up camp in our backyard. A dozen kids on the Freedom Trail. For my own children the memories of their home will always include a polar bear. But the proudest moment was when she informed Erik he had married an "Einig girl". I am honored to see my mother and her sisters in myself.

I was a budding teenage and I was visiting Aunt Cathy in the little house next Grandma house. I ask Aunt Cathy for a cup of coffee she said sure and poured me a cup .I didn't like it, but she said you wanted it ,now you will drink it all, she let me put lots of sugar in it. It still tasted awful, but I had to drink the whole cup, I did and,never ask any one for a cup of coffee until I was 20 years old, Aunt Cathy was a force to Recon with! We were red heads and that made me feel special for...

Describing our family interactions with Aunt Cathie is best summed up as endless jaw dropping, eye-popping moments. Many of her nieces and nephews can attest to her mastery of delivering a candid remark with such precision and usually, when we least expected. I suspect it brought her inner joy to watch some of us laugh with disbelief. "Did she really just say that?" "Yep!" Inasmuch as she was one to speak her mind, she was also a caregiver to some, a confidante to others, and an ancestry...
