Catherine Cheryl McManus

Catherine McManus, 74, of Lake Charles, LA died Tuesday, January 24, 2017.

Catherine was born on December 15, 1942 in Ville Platte, LA to Morris and Fannie McManus. She was Executive Secretary, working for Conoco and DuPont’s Vice President until 1988 then moved into Community Relations and worked in that capacity until retirement in 2002. Catherine worked in the petrochemical industry for 37 years. She was a member of St. Luke Simpson Methodist Church. Catherine was a member of board of directors of the Corporate Neighbor Council, the Volunteer Center, a graduate of the leadership program at the Southwest Chamber of Commerce, a member of Calcasieu Public Relations Committee, an industry representative to the CAER. She was a 1960 graduate of LaGrange Sr. High and a 1962 graduate of McNeese State University.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three siblings, Dr. Robert L. McManus and wife Dorothy of Iota, LA, Martha M. Comeaux of Iowa, LA, Morris T. McManus and wife Marybeth of Williston, ND; numerous nieces and nephews; and her St. Luke Simpson Church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 11:00 AM until time of service Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Prien Cemetery. Rev. Hannah Henderson will officiate services.
