Catherine Marie Sprock was born on July 23, 1928, to Phillip Folino and Clara Folino of Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Catherine was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. If you asked her what her most significant accomplishment in life was, she would say it was her 74-year marriage to the love of her life, Mike Sprock, who preceded her in death in 2020. Together, they raised three children and loved their seven grandchildren. Their story is one of true love, commitment, and respect. Their love served as a shining example for all to see and be around.
In addition to her family, Catherine's other love was teaching in the classroom. She was a third-grade teacher at Crestview Elementary School in Simi Valley for over 20 years. Her students and colleagues admired her for her selflessness, creativity, patience, endless joy, and energy. Whether at work or home, Catherine put others before herself and gave 110% to ensure everyone was well taken care of and happy. Catherine loved her family, Las Vegas, bingo nights, and sharing her talent for cooking, especially her lasagna. She is now with the Lord, her beloved husband, Mike, and her brilliant daughter, Janet. Catherine is greatly missed but is here in spirit always.
Wow! This lady was my third grade teacher! I loved her so much! I never forget her and her kindness. She was the inspiration for me to write stories by putting a box of pictures out for us to write stories about. She read to us daily! God bless Mrs Sprock!
