Many years gone by but, I still remember Uncle Cecil every day... he was a fine bold memory. I still use his funny sayings that he passed on to me and that have been passed on to my children. Miss our long talks and memories he shared.

Cecil E. Carlson was my uncle, my friend, my best fishing buddie and a true war hero, although he didn’t brag about it, he helped saved his fellow troops in many battles, earning his nickname “AXEL”, meaning dependable as a truck axel. He was just as dependable to me, as he taught me confidence, letting me run the boat motor when we went fishing since I was 7 years old. He taught me to enjoy fishing, outdoor camping, and how to cook a 1+ lb hamburger and eat 2 of them. We had many good...
