Not sure what to say?

My husband, John Staik, taught with Coach for many years at Pittman. I will never forget the day that Cecil came back to Pittman to say good-bye to John before he died. He was such a special person to all of his students and friends. The Silver Star has also lost a dear fried! We saw him there often after his retirement. He will be missed by many, but will forever live in the memory and lives that he touched.

In the early 70's, I was a student and played in the marching band at PJHS. "Coach Duke" was known to all of us. Little did I know then that he would become part of our family. Michael, Jake, Mallory and I have alot of fond memories of Cecil. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who also mourn his passing. We are comforted in knowing that he is no longer suffering.

I played football for Coach Duke at Wilkes Jr. High during 1970-1971. I have fond memories of those years. Probably the most fun I ever had playing football and basketball were for Coach Duke. I wish I had kept in touch with him over the past few years. I will say a prayer for him and his family.

I was a student of Coach Duke's at Pittman Junior High years ago. I was shocked to hear about him passing away. His family will be in our prayers. God Bless.

I certainly hate to hear of Coach Duke's passing,I am praying for all his family, and friends during this time of great sorrow. Kenneth Doss

I was a cheerleader at Wilkes High School while Coach was there in 70,71 - He was wonderful and we enjoyed him greatly. I am sorry for your loss.

Coach Duke was a true inspiration and leader at Pittman Jr. High. I was on his 72-73 Undefeated County Champions Football team. I am truly saddened at his passing and I always had the upmost respect for him. His work ethics that he taught us through football will never be forgotten. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends; I want them to know that I feel he passed on knowing that he helped mold us youg men into good adults. Thanks for the memories COACH DUKE!

I was saddened to hear of Coach Duke's passing. I was one of his students at Pittman JH (1980-81). He was a great man and will be sorely missed. Coach-see you on the other side, until then I'll try to stay mobile, agile and aggressive! God Bless! Kristie (Berry) Rankin
