Not sure what to say?

Cecil was one of my best friends. We shared a love for sport parachuting.

Last night I dreamt of Cecil. He came riding his motorcycle. I asked him how he was doing and if he could stay for for awhile. He said no that he was coming to say good bye.
I had not heard from Cecil in years so I google him and found this. I met Cecil at Fitness World in 1980 Montgomery. He was a wonderfully complex man. He loved Imre more than breathing. He enriched my life. A great dream of peace.

This is in memory and appreciation of an important friend from a pivotal period of my life. He was a unique combination of philosopher and excitement seeker, and his absence leaves a significant void. I send belated condolences to his son and family.

At the time Cecil was serving with the Marines in Birmingham I was serving with the Air Force at the Airport in the Fifties. We and others would congregate at the "Chicken-in-the Rough" cafe sometimes and strike off to a race in Daytona. Soon after getting out of the service, Cecil, Glen and I were the Racing Team for Glen Bynum. Glen was the mechanic and Cecil was the bike rider. Cecil had "Jesus Saves" painted on the gas tank of the bike (he was serious about that). We were in a motel...

Oak Mountain Reunion

I'm late in making an entry, but glad to add my comments to why we all thought so much of Cecil. Some people have this quality about them that makes us aware that this person means no harm and will be a loyal friend. Cecil was that and much more. Some talk the talk, others walk the walk. Cecil was the latter. He was a fighter and rider (the picture is from the fifties). Have a good ride Cecil!

Imre,

Just heard about Cecil from our Ensley Highlands Friends. Mark Ray’s message said it all. He is a life time friend and his grandmother, in Pratt City, raised him well. He was about three years older and one thing I will always remember; “ we are working to raise money to support and enjoy what we want to do”. With this he went to work with the Birmingham Fire department to have more time to ride etc. Remember checking out many used cars along third avenue and downtown...

Imre,

Your dad & I had been friends since 1949, primarily because we were both such rabid motorscooter/motorcycle fans. I had known OF Cecil much earlier than this, but ONLY by his Cushman scooter (& its now legendary open pipe megaphone built by Morris Ausley's father in '47-'48). However, Cecil & I did not meet vis-a-vis until later ('49) at the Bham News paper branch on Warrior Road in Ensley Highlands. On that occasion, your dad was riding his 'near new' maroon '48 Triumph 500cc...
