Cecil J. Jenkins NORFOLK - Cecil Jefferson Jenkins, 75, of the 500 block of Berkley Ave., departed this life April 5, 2010. Born in Norfolk, he was employed with Norfolk public school system until his retirement. He was a Bible student attending Norview Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred O. Jenkins. Survivors include his three daughters, Harriet Dowe (William) of Virginia Beach, Annette Grandison (Danny) of Chesapeake, and Arlena Thompson (Gary) of Norfolk; four sons, Cecil T. Jenkins Jr. (Norkeytia) of Norfolk, Tyrone N. Jenkins (Joycelyn) of Portsmouth, Ronald L. Jenkins (Delmira) of Norfolk and Anthony A. Jenkins (Nora) of Norfolk; four sisters, Jean Cherry, Rosa Gordon, Doretha Allen and Zelma Pritchet; 42 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Friday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3662 Humboldt St., Norfolk. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be today from 3 to 7 p.m. at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. We invite you to send a condolence message in the family's guestbook at www.pretlowandsons.com.
