Cecil Phipps Obituary

Cecil Ray PhippsDec. 12, 1927 - Sept. 6, 2010Cecil "Cec" Phipps passed away September 6, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Wanda, daughter Tricia Phipps and her friend Howard Kerr, son Terry Phipps and his wife Mary, daughter Rita Beisert and her husband Dennis, grandchildren Katherine Hubbard and her husband Josh, Laura Phipps, Kyle Beisert and Megan Beisert, siblings Wilma Dominic, Lee and Mary Phipps, Fred Phipps, Helen and Bruce Ross, John and Earline Phipps, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Cecil retired from Fred Jones Ford where he made so many good friends. Cecil enjoyed working with Wanda in their beautiful flower gardens and hosting friends at their famous "open yard" events in the spring. The family would like to express their gratitude to the people of Mercy Hospice and Legend at Council Road for their loving care of Cecil. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Friday, September 10, starting at 8 a.m. and the family will receive guests from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 11, at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out today about Cecil. I worked with Cecil at Fred Jones Ford for many years. He was a dear man and one that I looked up to. I will always remember his famous Divinity, and how his eyes would light up talking about Wanda and their beautiful flowers. I will always have fond memories of him. My thoughts and Prayers are with you all.
