Royce earned the Eagle Scout rank with Boy Scouts of America. He went on to earn his BSME at Kansas University and his. MS in Engineering at University of Alabama. He was an Officer in the US Navy. LTJG (CEC). He was also Structural Engineer at Brown Engineering and Westinghouse Electric Corp. He worked on various projects, including the LRV Project and received numerous patents for Nuclear Products. He also received many awards and recognitions throughout his life. He was Baptized March 30, 1947 at First Baptist Church of Kansas City. He enjoyed relaxing by walking, bicycling and driving his car. Early Saturday morning, God called Royce home. He had no family but will be greatly missed by his friends. He was preceded in death by his Father Roy Stapleton of Armstrong, Missouri, and Mother Barbara Juanita of Braymer, Missouri. A Memorial Service will be held on January 31, 2014 at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:15pm.
