Cecile M. Carrignan, 67, died Sunday July 27 surrounded by her family. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of Richard and Lorraine (Jette) Carrignan and lived most of her life in South Hadley. She worked in retail and restaurant management for Sears, Pizza Hut and Bonanza and offered services to the legal industry. During her high school years, Cecile was one of the biggest cheerleaders for her sports teams. Although not on the cheering squad, she brought her own team spirit to the game. Her brother Bob played hockey, so she spent quite a bit of time at the Olympia Skating Rink in West Springfield, supporting the SHHS Tigers. She attended Holyoke Community College with a focus on criminal justice to eventually become a lawyer. Instead, she chose a path to motherhood. She bore her one and only son, Bryant Davis. She committed her entire life to raising that child and this proved to be her absolute life purpose. Bryant grew up to be a double-major, cum-laude, band-member, graduate of the University of Massachusetts. All the while, after her brother passed, Cecile gave her heart and soul mothering her niece and nephew, Jessica and Bobby. Cecile’s heart could multiply to meet the needs of her dearest loved ones. In later years, before she took sick, Cecile volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She leaves her son Bryant Davis of South Hadley, her mother Lorraine Carrignan of South Hadley and her sister Denise Bondoni of Plymouth, Michigan. The funeral will be Friday August 1st starting with a calling hour from 9:00 to 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Church, 30 Main St., South Hadley followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 at church. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Dear Auntie Lorraine, Denise and Bryant,
God bless you at this trying time. Cil's beautiful smile, laughter and wit may be gone from us. But they are surely making Heaven a brighter place and lighting up the spirits of her brother Bobby, cousin Danny, her Dad and beloved Uncle Walter and Auntie Claire.

Cecile was my best friend. She and I were close in our 20s and 30s . I am very sad to hear of her passing. Bryant played with my niece and Cecile and I were part of each others family. As we got order we drifted but never stopped keeping in touch. I’m sorry for your loss and will always have wonderful memories of my times with Ceil and Bryant and her family members. Love you Ceil❤

Mrs. Carrigan, Denise and Bryant,
Our family is so sorry to hear of Cil's passing. Remembering long summer days at the Beach Grounds, school at Carew St and games at the High School. Cil was always so kind and giving of her friendship. Meeting Bryant and having our sons become friends was very special. Our prayers are with you all.

A beautiful soul, who loved from her heart. Thank you for all your prayers over the years. You gave your only son everything just like Mother Mary. The rosary has new meaning for us. Hail Mary.

I remember Cecile from my childhood days when I was a friend of Bobby's and Danny Letellier. Cecile was always full of fun energy and a can-do spirit. I'm sure she lived her life with these attributes. My condolences to her family.
