CECILIA C. MATERIA
Cecilia C. Materia 83 of 1588 Main Rd, Tiverton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on
January 5, 2009. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Materia. Born in Taunton, MA, she was the
daughter of the late Mary (Pacheco) and Gil Rodrigues. She was the devoted loving mother of
Paul Materia, Stephen Materia, Grace Andrade, Nancy DeSoto, Cecilia D. Materia, Cynthia Baptista,
Carol Correia, Karen Correia and also leaves 10 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren. Her surviving
siblings are Mary Felix, Edelina Aguiar, Gil Rodrigues, Joseph Rodrigues, Patricia Vaillancourt and she was
predeceased by 3 sisters. She had volunteered her services at St Christophers Church in Tiverton where
she was a communicant when her childen were young. An avid cook, she was also the Site Manager for the
Bristol Elderly at the Mitchell Center form 1999 to 2004. Visitation FRIDAY 3-9PM Jan 9th
Her Funeral will be held SATURDAY Jan 10th at 8am from the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME
462 Main Rd Tiverton with a 9am Mass at St Christophers Church. Entombment at Notre Dame Mausoleum. www.almeida-pocasset.com

My fondest memories of Aunt Cecilia was during the holidays when I was young which were always a fun time.
That and our times on the boat with my family, she and Uncle Tony were some of our best times.
My only regret is that I had not the opportunity to know her better as I grew into adulthood and will miss her dearly for that.
