Life Reflections Mr. Cedric LaMarl Cusack was born in Florence, South Carolina on December 28, 1983. He was the son of Lisa R. Cusack and James Brooks. He was called to his "eternal home" on Friday, November 21, 2014. Cedric, better known as "Ced" or "Cuzi," attended the public schools of Florence County, graduating with honors from South Florence High School in 2002. He furthered his education at Francis Marion University and Florence-Darlington Technical College. He was formerly employed with Wells Fargo Headquarters, Charlotte, NC. Cedric served God through his music as a living testimony to show the world what God can do. He grew up attending St. Peter Believers Holiness Church, Florence, SC, and later joined Macedonia Holiness Church, Cartersville, SC, under the leadership of Reverend Damon Thompson, Jr. Cedric loved a variety of sports but his favorite was basketball. He and Nikki often attended the NBA games in North Carolina. He also was the founder of Dynasty Car Club. One of his greatest achievements in life was being a self-taught lead guitarist. Throughout his life, Cedric was an advocate for Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness and often spoke with anyone who was willing to learn about the disease. He was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with but particularly those who shared this illness with him. In addition to his parents, Cedric was preceded in death by: his great-grandparents, Eula Sherrod, Emma Lee Cusack, and Flossie Allen; one grandfather, James R. Cusack; and one aunt, Mary Cusack Lewis. Cedric leaves to cherish his precious memories: his grandparents, Josephine Cusack Daniels of Florence, SC and Hammie J. Brooks of Barnwell, SC; his fiancé, Guanesha "Nikki" Durant of Charlotte, NC and her mother, Yvonne Wingate of Timmonsville, SC; three sisters, Tara (Matthew) Pressley, Daja Cusack, both of Florence, SC, and Shavon Brooks of Brooklyn, NY; five aunts, Angela C. Cain, Chilton (Michael) Ellis, both of Florence, SC, Elder Sandra Brooks, Karen (Waymond) Brooks-Courtney, and Beverly (Rev. Dr. Sam) Davis of Augusta, GA; one uncle, Kenneth Brooks of Augusta, GA; three nieces, Ava Brooks of Brooklyn, NY, and Ghordyn and Ghianna Dukes of Florence, SC; two nephews, Micah Pressley of Florence, SC and Jakeise McDaniel of Darlington, SC; godmother, Mary Ann Gregg of Florence, SC; god sister, Tara Gregg of Rock Hill, SC; childhood friend, Jamel Timmons; mentors, Ken Oliver, Mr. Carlton Sellers, Sr. and Pastor Terrance (Morniki) Grooms; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
