Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

Celeste Estelle Alderete went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2021 at the age of 31. She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours at Presbyterian Hospital in El Paso, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, aunt, and dear friend. She was born July 4, 1989 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Richard and Stella Alderete.

She will be remembered for the love she had for her family, friends, giving heart and her kindness. Celeste was a member of Mesilla Valley Baptist Church and pianist in the music group. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Anyone who knew Celeste, knew that she was a kind individual who always put others before herself. She enjoyed all types of music, caring for plants, and loved her cats.

After completing her Bachelors in Music Education from New Mexico State University in 2011, she became a music teacher at Cesar Chavez Elementary. She shared her love of music with countless children. In August of 2018, she followed her passion for music to attend Arizona State University in hopes of gaining a Masters in Music Therapy. She worked tirelessly in this pursuit so she could continue helping others with her talent. She had an immense passion for music and was always a source of positivity. Her family and friends will miss her more than words can say.

Those left to mourn her passing include her loving parents Richard and Stella Alderete, Brother Joshua Alderete (Christina Mendivil). Other survivors include two grandparents, 4 Uncles, 6 Aunts, and numerous cousins. Celeste was preceded in death by her grandparents; Celia Lucero, Felix Valencia, Edna Alderete, aunt, Eva Carbajal and other family members.

The morning service for Celeste is scheduled for 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with Pastor Guillermo Hernandez officiating. Concluding Service and Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Garden, 5140 W Picacho Ave where she will be laid to rest. A reception will take place back at Mesilla Valley Baptist Church, following the burial, where we will share memories and stories of Celeste.
