Celia Gomez Martinez, 86, of Midland, TX passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021. She was born Celia Gomez on February 6, 1935 to Jose Porras Gomez and Martha Parra Gomez in San Jose, Texas and was educated in Presidio, Texas.  As a child she enjoyed spending time with her brothers, sisters and cousins on her father’s ranch; picking prickly pears, singing and dancing. She married Rodolfo Carrasco Martinez in November of 1951, then relocated and made Midland, TX their home in 1952, where together they had four children.


She is survived by her husband Rodolfo Martinez; daughter-in-law, Carole Martinez; daughter, Maria Jilma Flores, husband, Noe Flores; son, Adrian Martinez; granddaughters, Maira Horton Flores, husband, Raymundo Flores Jr.; Amber Rubio, husband, Pedro Rubio III; Erica Gonzales, husband, Christopher Gonzales; Alaxis Torres, husband Joseph Torres; Clarissa Costilla; grandson, Jose Eladio Martinez, wife, Jennifer Martinez; great granddaughters, Ashley Martinez, April Martinez, Kelly Martinez, Chloe Gonzales, Leanna Seals, SoliMar Flores; great grandsons, Austin Martinez, Christian Gonzales, Joseph Martinez, Zavian Costilla, Jase Seals; brothers, Thomas Gomez, Henry Gomez, Jose Gomez; sister Eloisa Aguayo; nephews, nieces and cousins.


She is preceded in death by her daughter, Viola Martinez; son, Eladio Martinez, grandson, Eric Martinez.


Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. which will include a rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Monday, October 18, 2021; at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be, Noe Flores, Joseph Torres, Raymundo Flores, Christopher Gonzales, Billy Vivens, Stephen Bersosa, Matthew Bersosa, Marcus Rubio.
