A Dance All His Own
Cesar A. Murillo, 32, lived in TriBeCa and used the West Side Highway as his backyard. Along this road, Mr. Murillo used Rollerblades to get to work at Cantor Fitzgerald. He was proud of his Colombian heritage, flying a Colombian flag on his scooter during World Cup matches. He played volleyball on Pier 25 and kayaked near the same dock with his new bride, Alyson Becker.

And he danced. He was nicknamed "Lawn Mower" for the particular way he moved. "It wasn't any style. It was his own style," Ms. Becker said. "It was a mixture of hip- hop and Latin moves. He loved dancing. He danced when he was asleep. Literally, his feet would be moving when he slept. His mom said he danced in his crib."

Once, when the couple was visiting Fire Island with a group of friends, Mr. Murillo sneaked back to the dance club after Ms. Becker fell asleep in the hotel. Soon, their friends discovered a crowd laughing and staring. At the center of it was Mr. Murillo, dancing as only the "Lawn Mower" could. "It was so typical of him," Ms. Becker said.

Then there was the "Cesar Murillo factor" when it came to finding a parking spot in Manhattan. He drove his Toyota Land Cruiser everywhere, and "there was always a parking spot waiting for him," Ms. Becker said. "It was just unbelievable."

Not sure what to say?

You were not only a business relationship but a friend. When you hosted my brother and me to the US Open you greeted us at the gate and handed us an umbrella as the forecast called for rain. When we traded 3,000 miles away, you made me feel like I was dealing with a trustworthy friend and was always so grateful for the business. All these years later, I still can't imagine what that horrific day must have been for you and everyone else at the WTC. Sending light and love my friend.

Thinking of you today, the super friendly, smiling guy on the Student Senate at UVM. Wish you were still on the planet, brightening up the world.

20 years ~ dear dear Cesar ~ you are forever young, forever the light in our hearts, forever the friend who loved unconditionally, forever ... We all miss you more than words can say, just as much today. So much love, Em-a-lee-ya

Cesar, just thinking about you today. Someone wrote a blog post about the twin towers because they just happen to be looking at the New York skyline and they realized that they didn't know anyone who had passed away or any of the rescuers... it was a sweet and kind, almost too lovely a post. So, I "introduced" them to you. Just remembering you beautiful man. Just remembering college and Sigma... and SESP...Ha! Good memories.

Thinking today of the folks who lost their lives today. Cesar, I am sure you are resting in peace...

Cesar, always in my memories....

Giovanny. Norwalk Conn.

May God continue to give your family and friends strength on this day and every day. Sending thoughts and prayers, Ruth.

Hi Cesar - I'll be there next month to visit you.
Never forgotten. Best wishes Paul
