We do not know Chad personally but we send our condolences, love and prayers to the family. His unwavering service to protect the community and his family is an incredible gift. The Battle Within team is here for any of his community service friends.

When the pandemic hit, most of the employees at the building in Topeka were sent home, I was one of three that stayed behind with Chad. I didn’t know Chad, very well, but he was very steady and professional. A model of service. Godspeed Chad. Prayers to his family. We became friends and then were roommates when he came to the PD in Salina. 9/11 separated our paths but we always kept in touch through the years. I’ve known Chad for a very long time serving with him in the Air National Guard. I knew him before he commissioned and then we became good friends when he was a new maintenance officer and I was a crew chief on the line driving him around the line and explaining some of things to expect from crew chiefs the work done on the tankers.
