Hixson Brothers - Alexandria Obituary

Funeral services celebrating the life of Chad Chandler will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Bentley with Reverends Leland Briggs, Olcie Jackson and Jim Garlington officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Will "New York" Sinclair, Jesse Key,Jacob Hebert, Matt Roberts, Blake Futrell, Destin Parker and Harley Chelette. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Chandler, Cody Chandler and all of "Grant Parish Finest".

The family asks that visitation be observed, Tuesday, February 25, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

Chad Chandler, 21, of Dry Prong, passed from this life on Sunday, February 23, 2014 in an automobile accident.

Chad was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and Big White Oak Hunting Club of Grant Parish. He was a 2011 graduate of Grant High School where he excelled in football all four years. He was an avid sportsman that loved riding his four-wheeler with his friends and dirt track racing with his daddy (his car was # 24C). Chad loved his work at Cactus Drilling with his Uncle Jerry. He was an amazing child, with an even more amazing smile and well known along with his friends as one of ?Grant Parish Finest? that will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Russell B. Chandler; great grandparents, Pete and Clara Tullos, Travis and Doris Barton, Harold Austin and Russell O. and Marie Chandler.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Bobby G. and Karen J. Barton Chandler; Fiance?, Averi Leger; brother, Channing Gray and sister, Stephanie Chandler; grandparents, Gloria & Reggie Berry, Jerry & Brenda Barton, Norma & Huie Stone; great-grandmother: Mary Austin and a host of family and friends.

Y’all will always & forever be in our prayers, can’t tell you how much that we MISS CHAD!! But I can tell you, I have never seen a BOND WITH HIS FRIENDS like Chad did, they all depended on one another at all times, he will be forever missed!! I miss my visits with him & him coming to eat supper with us.
He will never be forgotten & he has EARNED HIS WINGS to heaven, and watching down on us, love y’all !!

It’s been 7 long years my baby. Momma misses you daily. I love you! More than ever. Until we meet again.... see you when I see you.
