Not sure what to say?

Chad and I were good friends as children. The Drake family only spent a few short years in Rockford, Illinois, In the early 90s, but the friendship we had together made a big impression on me. I considered him one of my very best friends and we even made a trip out to visit them in San Francisco when they lived there. It was very sad that we lost touch and sadder still to hear the news that he paid a debt to his country with his very life. He is greatly missed. Im certain no words I could say...

Today, Memorial Day, you were the first fallen soldier to enter my mind. I will never forget your smile. You were always smiling, even at football practice. Thank you for your service to our county! Stallions 99

Ginger i met you at the hair salon in Forney today. I just wanted to let you know that you touched my heart today.I think that God put us there at the same time for a reason. You are a very strong lady. I cannot imagine what you have gone through in the last few years. I am praying for you and your family.

I'll never forget the night before he left Rockford for good. There was a going away party in honor of his family that our whole church attended. Afterwards we went back to the Drake family home for last farewells. When I woke up the next morning all I could do was cry because I knew my best friend had gone away. I was only 10 years old. Chad and I would be the same age today: 28.

To the family of Spc. Chad H. Drake:
Chad gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."
