Burns Funeral Home - Frankford Ave. Obituary

Chad William Fischer, beloved son, fiancé, father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2024, at the age of 42. Born in Cape Canaveral, Florida, Chad was a vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone he encountered. Since 2009, he called Northeast Philadelphia home.

Chad graduated from Villanova University in 2005, where he forged lifelong friendships and cherished memories. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his two adoring children, Kaylee and Connor; devoted parents, Carl and Vicky Fischer; cherished fiancé, Colleen McDowell; and his supportive brothers, Ryan Fischer, Chris Fischer (Bridget McManus), and Richard Fischer (Victoria). His grandmother Helen Fischer. Additionally, Chad is remembered fondly by his cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Known for his infectious humor and love for practical jokes, Chad brightened every room he entered. Whether regaling friends with funny anecdotes or spinning tales of his adventures, he had an uncanny ability to uplift spirits. Chad found joy in simple pleasures, from spinning donuts in snowy parking lots, hitting mud puddles in the woods to camping trips with loved ones. He was a dedicated family man, always present at his children's track meets, dance competitions, and any activity they pursued.

A fervent Villanova basketball fan, Chad's enthusiasm for the sport was contagious. He was also renowned for his skill at the grill, earning the title of "wingman" for his legendary grilled wings at gatherings. Chad enjoyed setting up firework displays for events and always had the good ones. His warm and welcoming nature earned him the affectionate moniker "Chad United Family," and known as “Chitter” to many; he was top of the class making the mundane something spectacular or at least worthy of a tale or two. He was one of those guys that his eyes smile when he smiles.

A celebration of Chad‘s life will be held Wednesday April 3, 2024, the Viewing will be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 8504 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19136, at 9:00 AM before the 11:00 AM Mass is celebrated. Burial will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Bensalem, PA. Following the internment, a luncheon will be held at The Emerald Room, 14004 McNulty Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.

Not sure what to say?

One of the nicest, funniest, and hardworking Dads around. As a teacher to Kaylee, I’ve witnessed firsthand how Colleen and Chad raised some terrific kids! Chad was always involved in school affairs and functions. Whether it be morning drop offs or school dances, he was always there to lend a helping hand or share a laugh with a smile. The love for his family and children was evident in all his actions. I’m so blessed to get to meet and know this great man! May God Rest his wonderful soul and...
