Not sure what to say?

BDE~ after googling his name, I am saddened to read of his passing. Rabbi Schertz was at Fort Carson when we lived there and was our first military chaplain. May his name always be for a blessing and may his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I only knew the good Rabbi slightly as a child, and then better as his neighbor. I will never forget watching his face light up when I took an opposing position to his, and watched him dig in. Thank you Rabbi Schertz, you were a great man.

Riva and children, I'm saddened to learn of the death of your husband and father. I worked many funerals with the Rabbi.
My deepest sympathies.

Dear David, Your father, Rabbi Schertz was a blessing. His wisdom and deeply held morality were a gift to all who knew him. Our deepest condolences to you and all of your family.

With love, Bridget & Michael

A great man, scholar and friend. I'll never forget him nor will I ever forget Cantor Rockoff.

My first trip to Israel was with Rabbi Schertz, Riva, David and Sara. Great family that I admire very much.

Rest In Peace Rabbi Schertz.

A great man, a great friend. I'll miss him forever

From the moment we moved to Harrisburg and until we left, we "bonded" with Rabbi Schertz as great scholar and a man of wisdom and integrity. We will continue to think of him. May his memory be a blessing, and may Reva and the entire family find nechama in knowing many of the many people who held him in high regard. Baruch Dayan Ha-emet.

May the memory of this righteous man be a blessing ZTz"L.
Sincere condolences to Rabbi Schertz's family.
