Until the age of 12, Chancellor A. Keesling lived in Jamaica and developed a love of all things Jamaican, including reggae and football. When his family relocated to Indianapolis in 1996 to start a business, Chancellor quickly adapted to life in the U.S., and "football" became "soccer." Following a successful tryout, he joined the F.C. Dynamo Soccer team, a premier youth soccer club located in Indianapolis. It was one of his proudest achievements. Keesling, 25, of Indianapolis, Ind., shot and killed himself June 19 in Baghdad. He was a 2003 high school graduate and was assigned to Sharonville, Ohio. His family said he shot himself two weeks after he returned for his second tour of duty in Iraq and days after an argument with his girlfriend. His aunt, Zandra Baker, said Keesling''s military career sprang out of desire to help people. "He told people, ''I can do this. I want to help people and make their lives better,''" Baker said. "He was always the first to volunteer when someone needed help. No one could change his mind." He also is survived by his parents, Gregg and Jannett.

I did not know your son nor have I been in the military. I was reading the news about the condolence letters from the president and thought of how hard this is for you. You are in my thoughts, your son also. I wish you peace and understanding.
