Read MoreI have some wonderful memories of Pastor Owens from back in 1965 when I was a young woman in the teenage choir. His voice was so deep and his words were so profound. I remember how proud I was to call him my pastor. My prayers go out to the Owens family. I will always have fond memories of Wells Cathedral and the pastor who preached on being Holy.

I just found out today that a great man was no longer with us my family and I could not believe it. Wells Cathedral was my starting place with the Lord as a young child. Our prayers are with your family. We've lost a truly remarkable soldier and his memory will be kept by all who knew him and it was such a priviledge to be in his congregation. Thank you Bishop Owens

My deepest sympathy and prayers goes out to you the Owens family in the loss of one of COGIC great men of God, his voice was like no other that is what got my attention as a young person in the early 60's attending the Holy Convocation in Memphis with my mother I was always glad when he spoke and sang.
