I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2 Timothy 4:7

Mrs. Chandra McGowan, born January 5, 1961 in Charlotte North Carolina, quietly passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 surrounded by family.

She was guided in life by her loving parents, Robert and Frances Calhoun and James Luckey. Chandra attended public school in Mecklenburg County and graduated from Garinger High School. She worked at Long’s Cleaners before leaving to be a full time homemaker. Chandra adored working with her hands, crafting, sewing, knitting and most importantly, cooking. Although she had the unique ability to solve puzzles of any kind, she was most passionate about children. She had the pleasure of raising and guiding many children throughout her life, no child ever went without in her presence.

Chandra is preceded in death by her stepson, Antonio Beatty; brothers, James Scott Luckey and Byron Kent Luckey.

She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Nathaniel McGowan; children, Nadarren McGowan, Makala McGowan; stepsons, Exavia McGowan, Marquis McGowan, Damion McGowan, Antwon McGowan; surviving siblings, Kelvin Luckey and Laura Wright; aunts, Julia Wingate and Linda Reid; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins who will always love her beyond measure.
