I taught with Char for many years. I was sad to hear of her passing. She always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. Martha Thomson

I was a classmate of Charlene's in elementary school and have sweet memories of her. After many years, we met again at a reunion for others who had attended DeWitt schools and since then she had kept in touch on birthdays and Christmas with her wonderful Christmas greeting with photos of family. Condolences to her family. I know she is missed by many people.

It is with great sorrow that I send my thoughts and prayers to the family of my friend and former schoolmate Charlene. What a shock the news was to me. I'm so sorry.

She invited our entire class over to her house for dinner once, which I remember so vividly. We even met her husband and sons that night, and I thought very fondly of them also. She was definitely one of the most caring and beautiful people I've ever met, and I've thought of her often over the years. My only regret is not getting back to...

Schaar Family~ I know that no words can take away your pain at a time like this. Mrs. Schaar was my first grade teacher many years ago. I have taken more memories from that year with me than I have of, perhaps, my entire elementary experience. Her compassion, enthusiasm, and kindness are the reason I am a teacher today. She will be greatly missed around town. You could always count on Mrs. Schaar to remember your name and to be truly interested in what her students were doing with thier...
