Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

ABRAHAM, Charles Albert - Of Fenton, age 82, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 surrounded by those who loved him.

Charles was born in Michigan on October 23, 1938 the son of the late Albert and Virginia Abraham. After graduating from Kearsley High School, Chuck enlisted in the Marine Corp where he was awarded the Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart for his service during the Vietnam War. He entered law enforcement and served in the Genesee County Sheriff Department attaining the Rank of Detective Sheriff until his retirement. He also served as Police Chief of Montrose Township. An avid Michigan State fan he loved Spartan football and basketball. If Chuck wasn’t golfing, he was with his beloved bull dogs or watching friend’s dogs, he always had a treat in hand. Chuck leaves many lifelong friends, golfing buddies, breakfast club, "the girls", many special neighbors and the Lazar family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Per Chuck’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. "Semper FI".

Contributions may be made to the Humane Society, Adopt-A-Pet, and Marine Corps Toys for Tots and Wounded Warriors.

Not sure what to say?

Mr "Chuckles", first met you when you were working at the Coke-Cola on Lapeer Rd. How long ago was that?? All through the years we know your gruff was mostly bluff, but your heart was always in the right place. Gonna miss you, be at peace.

I was saddened to hear of Chuck's passing. He was a good friend and co-worker. We played ice hockey on the same team. He was an outstanding goal tender. RIP Chuck.

So sorry to hear this. I worked with Chuck, years ago, and he was a great guy, and patrolman. Condolences to his family. RIP my friend.

When I read all your tributes Chuck, I know I was right many years ago when you were my neighbor. I had such a crush on you, especially when you were in uniform. Handsome, witty with a great smile. Rest in Peace sweet, handsome friend!

Sgt Abraham was a legend in my eyes. When I was a young patrolman he took me under his wing, so to speak, and looked out for me in a way only he could. He taught me so much about how to do policework and I have never forgotten that til this day. He will be sorely missed. Thanks for all your help!! Now you can Rest In Peace knowing you got the job done.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Chuck. He was such a great guy. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always made me smile, when I would see him. God Bless Chuck, who will always be in my prayers.

Charlie was a very special public servant and friend. Always good for a laugh and a good story.
My sympathies to all who loved him.

Chuck was sweet, generous, and a real good friend to all. He will be missed.

Chuck was a fellow law enforcement officer and great friend - what a sense of humor; sometimes a little off beat, but done so intentionally to through you off - just a special twist to say " I got ya " - my prayers and sympathy go out to all those close - God Bless !
