Charles ANCRUM

Mr Ancrum was without doubt one of my most influential teachers - Grade 7, 1963. Always strong and patient, he understood how different students needed to work differently. He never forced his authority, he simply demonstrated to me how to be a man, without fuss or noise, and showed me great trust. One day he left the room for several minutes; when he came back in he informed us very quietly that President Kennedy had been shot. I could tell he was very sad, we could barely understand this...
