I am honored to read Fred's obituary. He was a good person and always greeted me with a big smile and had a big heart. Sadly, I have not been active in keeping up with acquaintances and friends from high school. My prayers are for you and the family. God bless each of you and give you strength to continue without Fred.

I remember sitting in the stands at Saunders Stadium and watching Fred going back to punt the football. Suddenly he saw an opening and took off and with his speed scored a touchdown. I was with my dad (Mr. Arthur L. Burke a teacher at Newport News High School) and I believe my dad said he was in one of his classes either in summer school or the regular year. If I remember correctly my dad said he was good student and a nice person; obviously a good runner and quarterback! Rest in peace and...

The Fred known by a lot of us who worked with him. Great person would help anyone who needed it. My condolences to Marilyn and family. God bless you will be missed
