Not sure what to say?

I just saw this. I had Dr. Arnade as a professor while I attended USF in the early 80's. He was a great lecturer and I will never forget how surprised he was I knew where Ypsilanti, MI was. He will be missed.

I just recently saw this wonderful tribute. He was my Latin American teacher in 1964 and I recall a visit to his home in San Antonio. I recall he put his academic key on his belt, a perfect symbol for someone who treated relationships over material things. Did he influence me? I've been a history professor of fity years and content editor Florida and American textbooks.

I will never forget this professor. He popped into mind mind just a few weeks ago and I thought I would look him up. Very passionate, thoughtful, intelligent.

He was one of my best professor's at USF. I used to look forward to going to his classes. He made the lecture very informative and fun. Im happy I had the chance to have him as my teacher. - Jay G. - West Palm Beach.

Dear Marge and family; I was so saddened by the news of Charles's death, that it surprised me. My acquaintance with him was brief and so long ago. You and he gave me one of the greatest gifts of my life - the use of your precious and funky home in San Antonio, for that magic year comprising August to August 1969 - '70. I was newly married, just 21 years old. And because that home shines bright in my memory for many reasons, including that it is where my daughter, now an attorney and professor...

Dear Marjorie, I just learned of Charles;'s passing today. I well remember the day he called me in 1999 or so wanting my journal, to review a book on Colonial Armidale by (sadly) the late John Ferry. This grew to a long acquaintanceship which led to our meeting at several Australian conferences, including he one in Boston that you also attended, It was such great fun to sit next to him at dinner there. Charles was somebody of staggering erudition and an incredible range of interests,...

Dr. Arnade was always kind to me when I served as assistant editor and editor of Inside USF, the faculty/staff newsletter, in the 1990s to about 2003 after it was renamed. He offered his help when I was laid off and made me laugh at many a Faculty Senate or other public meeting. He was usually the first professor to rise and offer his insight. I didn't always agree with him, but he always wanted what was the best for USF. He spent more time in the State University System than any other...

Dear Marge and family,
My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences on the passing of Dr. Arnade. I will always treasure and never forget your many kindnesses and hospitality when my husband, USF professor, Dr. John B.Adams, died in 1967.

Dr. Charles Arnade was not only an erudite, caring professor, he was one of the finest human beings whose life graced this planet. He will be sorely missed.

Marge and Family,
I am so sorry to learn of your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord comfort you during this difficult time.
Peace Be With You,
