Charles Andrew Baker, 71, of Gretna, Florida, finished his earthly course on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.


Mr. Baker was a lifelong resident of Gadsden County and a faithful servant of God, serving in ministry throughout his life. He was a graduate of James A. Shanks High School, Class of 1972, and proudly served his country in the United States Army.


Charles Andrew Baker was a hardworking provider who spent his career employed by C. W. Roberts Contracting, Inc., until his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, humility, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.


A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Church of Christ Written in Heaven, 12425 Blue Star Highway, Gretna, FL 32332, with burial at Tallahassee National Cemetery on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.


A public wake service will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at St. Stephen Primitive Baptist Church, 472 Williams Street, Gretna, FL 32332.


He leaves to cherish his memory his Wife: Patricia Hall Baker; seven Sons: Carlos Baker, Darren Baker, JuJuan Baker, Tavares Halyard, Carl Gilyard,  and Charles Baker; Children he raised: LaKeidre Gilyard, Carl Gilyard, Jr., Shavitris Cloud, Nadia Green, JaKobe Green and his Baby Girl: Layla Hall; and Evelyn Baker of Miami, FL; two Brothers: Alexander Baker and Oscar Baker; 25 grandchildren; and a host of loving relatives and friends
