BAKER, Charles A. Baker, Jr. - Of Grand Blanc, age 75, died Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Bethany Baptist Church of Grand Blanc, 2353 E. Grand Blanc Rd., Pastor Chris Tenneriello officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Possessors at the Bethany Baptist Church. Visitation 12-3PM and 5-8PM Friday, August 20, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road and 10:30 AM Saturday at the church. Mr. Baker was born in Ovid, Michigan on November 9, 1928. He married Elizabeth Ann Garrett in Flint, Michigan on February 7, 1948. He was a Ham Radio operator for many years. He was also a member of Bethany Baptist Possessors, and a member of UAW Local #598, retiring from G.M. Truck and Bus in 1987. Surviving are 2 sons, Charles Albert III and wife Sue of Grand Blanc, Timothy Bruce and wife Faith of Trenton; 8 grandchildren, Ebby, Robert, Melissa, Christopher, Jason, Brian, T.C. and Trevor; great grandchild, Brandon; daughter-in-law, Debbie Baker. He was preceded in death by wife Elizabeth, son James Earl.

So sorry to hear of Charlie's death.
He and I worked together at Truck & Bus. I would pick him up for work. I enjoyed his company on the ride in.
I did not see his death notice in time to visit the funeral home. Sorry.
