Went grade school and High school with CHARLES. In the glee club together and called him my friend.
Years later when I was in the San Francisco area went to see him,Vern Allison and the group .
They were an intro act for Ray Charles.
Went backstage after the show!
They were all terrific.
Really grateful to have known them and to love their music.

Mr Barksdale was an incredible human being. He gave me a vision and a baseline that I use to this very day. The last time I saw him I ask for his approval for my Wife and he gave me the nod. I been married 13 years now. By seeing his success, I believe I could be great. You could also see his greatness through his kids. What an incredible man! Rest in Power!
