Not sure what to say?

To all of Charlie's friends:
Thank you for sharing Charlie with me and with all of us. Most of all he "sought to understand". When I asked him a question, he asked why did I ask, and then listened to why I asked, and then was good to give a kind answer. His anwsers were so direct they were easily understood. No bs, no exaggerations, no rhetoric, no riddles. Just the answer. He will always be a role model for me. And he still had a sense of humor.

I am Nan Bartel's sister and have had the great honor of being around your father. I so enjoyed his stories and his wealth of knowledge. He was so kind and considerate with our family and I will always be grateful for the way he cared for my sister and my niece. I did talk to him once after Nan had passed and we had a good talk. I know he struggled for a long time with his bad health and hope that finally he has some peace. My sincere condolences to the family. Amy Vail

We are thinking of the family and your loss. Our hearts are with you; we hold you dear!

Charlie,
You look just like this photo of your Dad.
My deepest sympathies to you, Mary and your entire family for the loss of such a great person.
I will always cherish the memories of him as we were all running around Algiers as kids.
I always remembered him there for all of us.
You will remain in my heart and prayers.

To The Family of Charles Bartell,
May God be with you and comfort you as only He can. I remember Charles as a friend in Magnolia High School. I was a guest in his home many times as a teenager. We had a lot of fun together with all of our friends. I visited with him at our 50th High School reunion in 2006.

Our prayer is that the grace and peace of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be upon you. We pray that the mercies and all comfort of the Father of our Lord Jesus...
