Not sure what to say?

Vice Principal Bartolet (when I was in junior high, early 1980s) used to give out quarters for correctly answered questions when he would visit classrooms. I was ecstatic to win once, knowing that my grandfather was an SV grad who later graduated from Harvard. He had a booming voice and large presence, perfect for the disciplinarian of the school. I got in trouble at a dance. He took away honor society and football and asked I meet him in his office Monday. I was super nervous. He asked me...

Renaissance man is the word I would use to describe Mr. Bartolet, for he lovingly and generously bestowed his wit and wisdom to the entire Saucon Valley community. One of our innumerable treasured memories is the time he impersonated Ebeneezer Scrooge highlighting his rich, gruff voice to the delight of his captive audience. Mr. Bartolet was the consummate educator, consummate coach and consummate friend. We all have been richly blessed to have known him. Please accept our deepest...

So sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. He was an excellent coach and even a better person. I had to pleasure of officiating many of his wrestling teams dual meets and tournaments. While we didn't always agree, he was always very professional. His legacy will live on forever and will never be forgotten. Like many others who knew Charlie, I learned a lot about character from him. May his family and friends find peace. Sincere condolences to his family and those closest to him.

To one of the greatest coaches ever and an even Better man!! Rest in peace coach you will be missed dearly!

Charlie was an outstanding wrestling coach that really put Hellertown High school in a special level. He also was an administrative leader for the school and town. My son Mike really admired Mr Bartolet during his 4 years as a varsity athlete. He really cared about the students and was a good friend and leader. He will be missed.

This great man and educator did not know me personally but how he knew me so well is still a mystery to me four and a half decades later. It was one partcular situation. I have thought about that situation many times over in the years since and marvel how amazing it was. He also had incredible energy to not only have a full day at the school but to stay and coach wrestling for hours after. Totally amazing guy.

I never met Charlie or Terry Bartley. But as a kid growing up in 1950's Easton, I worshipped the ground they walked (and ran) on. God bless them both--my boyhood heroes

My wrestling coach and probably my favorite teacher in high school. I have many memories of him that have stuck with me since I graduated from Hellertown-Lower Saucon High School in 1969. Rest in peace, Mr. Bartolet. You lived a long and fulfilling life. My most sincere condolences to Rita Bartolet and the extended Bartolet family.

His was a life well lived.
